2011-12
It is rather comical to watch the faces of the Thai people when we tell them that we first arrived in Thailand in Oct 1984.
There are admiring clucks followed by the greatest compliment we could be given, "Oh you are really true Thais now."
Yes, we have completed five terms in this land of our calling and are eager to dig in for our sixth. The church has grown
greatly and the missionary team has seen endless changes but the need still remains immense. As increasingly unstable the
political situation presents new challenges, hearts remain open. Within just a few hours of arrival, we had already shared
the Lord with a couple of workers at the guest house where we spent our first few nights. Leadership training and church
planting remain our priority but we will also be partnering with fellow missionaries to facilitate their vision of reaching
unreached people groups in Thailand.
God has called us to Hua Hin, an area of Thailand where no AG missionary has resided before.
We leave behind three wonderful married children and one grandchild who are all supportive of our ministry. (Our youngest -
Joy - arranged her wedding for May 14 so we wouldn;t have to make a special trip back!) We miss them but are thankful that we
can stay in touch so easily these days.
