Our ministry is church planning. We are in the process of starting a new church called "Nozomi Kirisuto Kyokai (Hope Christ
Church) in the city of Hachinohe in northern Japan. Hachinohe is a coty of about 250,000 people. Our church is the only
Japanese Pentecostal church for about a 2-hour radius. The church meets in a rented house which also serves as our home.
Most Japanese are Buddhist and Shinto. In our city of 250,000 there are fewer than 300 church going Christians, even when counting
every denomination, both Catholic and Protestant, evangelical and ecumenical. Most Japanese have never been inside a church, read
a Bible, or know even the most basic teachings of Christianity.
Church planting in Japan is a slow process, but very rewarding when we consider that we have the privilege of sharing the Gospel
every day with people who have never heard, nor would they ever hear if we were not here.
